Committing ourselves to the work and ministry of Reformation NOW, we endeavor to engage other Christians with "doctrinal truth" in an effort to demonstrate and encourage a 'true and reasonable' expression of the Christian faith as outlined through the Scriptures. Being able to discuss "doctrinal truths" in a Spirit of unity and understanding surely highlights our desire of worshipping Him in Spirit and in Truth.
All too often dialogue and discussion regarding "differences in doctrine" have led to polemic debates wherein we seemingly talk past each others points, and worst yet have led to division within the worldwide 'Body of Christ'.
We therefore seek to engage others in discussion and dialogue with a mind of humility, seeking to understand differences in doctrine and how they have risen rather than misunderstand each other and be divisive.
We set out knowing that this is a challenging effort. Many people, even many Christians, would rather not harp on "good doctrine" all the while fostering a "false unity" by not bringing up divisive issues. We instead believe "good doctrine" leads to "good beliefs" and therefore want to urge and challenge each of us to "prove all things, abstain from evil, and hold fast to that which is good (1 Thessalonians 5:21)".
Let us truly show the world the wisdom of God - in the world, not of the world!
A Valid question - HOW?
Each month our ministry (Reformation NOW) will put out a 'Reformer's Bulletin' that will have a topic and a list of ways we can go about encouraging and edifying ourselves and others with "doctrinal truth".
Also, beyond our individual involvement and effort of completing the list within the 'Reformer's Bulletin', we desire that each reformer would find ways to bring about a larger discussion and dialogue in their local region with Christian leaders and ministries.
There will also be a monthly 'conference call' that will be made available to anyone and everyone. This 'conference call' will welcome different 'reformers' within our ministry to be the speaker and will focus on the monthly topic that will be found in the 'Reformer's Bulletin'.
God willing, as this ministry grows, we will various other methods of engagement and resources for distribution.
